  1. Wow that’s a great list of ideas for saving a ton of money! Good job.

    Some specific comments:

    (1) Go one further: If your regular store offers a loyalty scheme, make sure you’re signed up to it! Every transaction gets you free money, and usually a load of “get x% off your next purchase of XYZ” because you’ve bought it before. (Obviously only a bargain if you need it though…!)

    (3) I’ve saved SO much money doing this. I was a fiend for ‘eating out’ for lunch and now save a ton by actually taking 5 minutes each night the day before and making my lunch in advance rather than buying it.

    (8) If you have no library or a rubbish one, you’d still save money by signing up to an internet streaming service such as Netflix, rather than buying everything you want on DVD/bluray. For the cost of a couple of lattes a month I get unlimited TV show and Movie streaming any time of the day or night.

    (12) Ahem. I still need to do these … maybe this year? :-\

    (16) YES YES YES! Without a budget, you’re doomed. Simple.

Nice site with great content. I’ll be back to read some more when I have a minute 🙂

  2. The bf goes to the library so often to borrow dvds and music that the librarians know him on a first name basis. I suspect we’ve saved hundreds of dollars in dvd rental fees this way. He also makes coffee at home and with as much as he drinks I know that probably saves us at least $200 (probably much more) a year.
