Infographic – Back-to-school time is here, but are retailers getting our attention?

Oh, back-to-school, maybe the most loved and hated time of year.

Summer coming to an end– bummer.

Getting to see friends again—yeah!

Having to go to class, take tests, and study—bummer.

Back-to-school shopping—yeah!

Hard to make the back-to-school shopping season comparable to the Thanksgiving to Christmas run. A couple of big retailers even announced a “Black Monday” in August trying to mirror Black Friday in November. If you didn’t hear about the August Black Monday, don’t worry, it didn’t go over very big.

For back-to-school shoppers though, only good can come from this kind of push from favorite stores because it really only means more discounts!

According to the Infographic below, most students, a full 69%, aren’t aware that they are eligible for student discounts.

So we didn’t hear about Black Monday, and we didn’t know about student discounts. Sounds like retailers need to work harder to get the attention of students and the parents of students who are often paying the bills.
